Angela Sherrill

Angela (“Angie”) Sherrill grew up in Catawba County. After graduating from Newton-Conover High School, she spent the next four formative years attending UNC in beautiful Chapel Hill.  After obtaining her BA in Political Science at UNC, Angie received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, and she spent the next 20 years practicing law in Miami.

Angie’s work as an attorney has included a broad spectrum of business transactions and litigation matters. She is a member of The Florida Bar, The North Carolina Bar and multiple federal courts. Angie has worked on numerous interesting cases while practicing law with boutique firms in Miami, included among the following:  The 2000 Presidential Election case; the Elián González matter; defending the leader of Movimiento Democracia against federal charges that he unlawfully entered Cuban territorial waters; representing the Chapter 7 Trustee for Southeast Banking Corporation after federal regulators seized its principal subsidiary, resulting in the largest liquidation in the Southern District of Florida at that time; and numerous other matters involving financial institutions, commercial transactions and business disputes.

In 2012, Angie returned to North Carolina to accept a position as General Counsel for a home furnishings manufacturer and national retailer, where she worked alongside Foothills Carolina Club Co-Leader John Bounous for seven years, during which time the company’s business expanded, growing from six to 30 retail stores in the nation. In 2019, Angie joined the law firm Patrick, Harper & Dixon, LLP, located in Hickory, where she concentrates her legal practice in the areas of Business and Real Property transactions, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property and Employment Law.

Angie is a lifetime member of the GAA, a committed Francophile and a foodie. She enjoys the true-crime genre and watching Carolina basketball. Angie is excited to be part of the revival of the Foothills Carolina Club and to be able to work with John Bounous and the other talented and dedicated club leaders to promote local interest in our beloved UNC!
