Since 2010, your Foothills Carolina Club has provided over $24,000 in scholarship assistance to area UNC students from Catawba, Burke, Caldwell and Alexander counties. This has been a primary mission of this club and it has only been possible with the help of area alumni, mostly through their financial support of our Tar Heel Tradition Scholarship Dinner.
I am pleased to announce that we are planning our next Tar Heel Tradition Dinner for February 19, 2018 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hickory, NC! Our speaker will be Assistant AD Rick Steinbacher ‘93. We also will be giving away some great door prizes such as an autographed basketball by this year’s men’s team and a copy of the book Redemption signed by the authors, which details the Heels’ run to the 2017 National Championship!
The purpose of this email is to ask for your help in making this our most successful dinner yet by making a tax-deductible financial donation, which is critical to our success. The more donations we receive, the more successful we will be in the amount of financial aid we can provide to deserving area UNC students.
While any donation will be greatly appreciated, we have established four suggested giving levels, each with benefits specific to the amount of the donation. These are as follows:
Donors at the $150 to $249 “Davie Poplar” level will receive a free dinner plus 2 extra raffle tickets and recognition in the dinner program.
Donors at the $250 to $499 “Old Well” level will receive 2 free dinners, 3 raffle tickets plus recognition in the dinner program.
At the $500 to $999 “Priceless Gem” level, donors will receive 4 free dinners, 5 raffle tickets plus recognition in the program and from the podium.
Donors at the $1000 and higher level are referred to as “Table Sponsors” and will receive 8 free dinners, 10 raffle tickets plus recognition in the program and from the podium. All donors will receive an email verifying their contribution, as long as we receive a valid email address, which will serve as the receipt.
Contributions need to be received no later than January 15th, 2018. Checks should be made out to Foothills Carolina Club with “Scholarship Dinner Donation” written on the memo line and mailed to Eric E. Sipe ’76, PO Box 788, Maiden, NC 28650. Please include a preferred email address and a phone number where you can best be reached.
